Like I said, Scott broke up with me shortly after he had this dream. I tried phoning him a couple of times, but he clearly wasn’t interested in having a conversation with me, so I gave up and tried to decide what I was going to do about Kevin. What could I do? He had me on the run, but since he had made no overt threats, there wasn’t anything I could do, except move away from the area. I considered that for a month or so, but I didn’t have much money, and I couldn’t think of any other place to go. I had some friends scattered throughout the country, but at thirty-nine years old, I wasn’t ready to uproot myself because some local maniac was having a temper tantrum.

Two months after I had last talked to Scott, I was more than startled when I read the following short article in the local newspaper.
